Giverny & Monet Gardens Private Tour

Claude Monet lived in Giverny from 1883 until his death in 1926. In this Norman house with green shutters, the master of Impressionism painted some of his most famous works, including the monumental Water Lilies series exhibited at the Orangerie in Paris. Just 75 kilometers northwest of the capital, his estate — house and gardens — is now open to the public from April to October. Monet's house, with rooms colored like palettes (yellow dining room, blue kitchen), bears witness to the painter's chromatic universe. But the gardens are the main experience: the Clos Normand, with its flower beds structured in geometric paths bursting with colors throughout the seasons; and the Water Garden, more mystical, with its famous Japanese bridge painted green and its water lily pond that inspired so many masterpieces.

The tour begins with a 9am pickup at your Paris address. The approximately 1h15 journey takes you through the Seine valley. On site, allow 2 to 3 hours to visit at your own pace, strolling between the flower beds and around the pond. For art lovers, the Musée des Impressionnismes de Giverny, just steps away, offers quality temporary exhibitions.

For lunch, several charming addresses: Le Jardin des Plumes (Michelin starred), Hôtel Baudy (traditional cuisine in the inn where American painters stayed), or Les Jardins d'Hélène. The return to Paris is in the mid-afternoon, around 3pm. This tour can also be combined with a visit to La Roche-Guyon or Vétheuil to extend the artistic experience.
